PALM BEACH COUNTY EDUCATION NETWORK WORKSHOP MINUTES
Minutes: The presentation will provide Board Members an overview of where The Education Network (T.E.N.) has been, where it is, and where it will be going in the future. This presentation will provide financial information, program offerings, as well as a discussion about the potential of TEN. Board Members were shown a video that updated them on the status of The Education Network. Rich Contartesi, Director of Educational Technology, briefly summarized the Middle School Retention Program; Digital Divide; and Distance Learning. Dr. Ann Faraone, Director of Student Intervention Services, provided Board Members with a presentation on the Education Network (TEN) and highlighted the following: State of the Station - Comparison; State of the Station - Staff Comparison; State of the Station - Graph Comparison; The Education Network/Educational Broadcast Services 2005-2006 Rate Chart; TEN Rate Chart for Department & Schools; TEN Rate Chart - External Organizations; Remote Production Truck; Post Production and Editing; Audio Recording Services; and Video Production Costs. Dr. Judy Garcia, Director of The Education Network, introduced her staff to Board Members. Mr. Hansen acknowledged the staff of the Education Network and commended them for the great work they do. Dr. Richmond suggested expanding the services and programs The Education Network provides and emphasized her appreciation for the high standards they have set. Dr. Robinson questioned when students will be able to access the Learning Tools website and Dr. Adler responded that they are working on this issue and should have it completed soon. Dr. Robinson stressed her desire to provide The Education Network to satellite costumers. Mr. Lynch stated he is pleased with the staff development portion and its capability of being used as a tutoring tool.
